Why did Samson tear the lion?

Judges 14, 5-6

The times of the judges were evil days for Israel. See Judges chapter 21, 25
Samson was of the tribe of Dan, and God had appointed him Nasir and judge to judge the people of Israel.
Because everyone did what was right in his eyes, Samson also acted according to what was right in his eyes, taking a wife from the daughters of the Philistines (Judges 14: 1).
When Samson and his parents went to the Philistines, they came to the vineyards of Timnah, where a young lion was yelling at them (verse 5). As the Spirit of God came upon him, Samson tore the young lion with his hands (verse 6) without his parents noticing.

On the way back, after visiting the lady-of-the-heart (verse 7), Samson turned part of the way to see the torn lion. He found in the body of the lion a swarm of bees and honey, which he took out (verse 8). Both he and his parents ate the honey (verse 9) without knowing the context and the origin of the honey.
After some time the wedding of the Philistines takes place (verses 10-14). There Simson puzzles the men. The reward of this solution should be 30 change dresses. The riddle is: "From the eater came food, and from the strong came sweetness" (verse 14). Threatened to burn her father's house, Samson's wife is blackmailed to explore the riddle and the solution (verses 15-17). On the seventh day, the men shared the riddle solution and said, "What is sweeter than honey? And what is stronger than the lion? "(Verse 18)

This is in a nutshell the message of Scripture.
On this way to the nations, away from Israel, Simson and his parents are roared at the place of earthly pleasures (vineyard) by a young lion (verse 5b).
The image of the lion refers to the Lord, the anointed. Who is this who is called "lion" in the scriptures (Revelation 5: 5)? Because the Messiah comes from Judah, because salvation is from the Jews (John 4:22), we find a hint in the blessing of Jacob, the patriarch,
in Genesis 49: 8-9, "Judah is a lion," even as here in Judges 14, 5b, "a young lion!" Now we recognize in the lion, the young lion, the gender of the Jews. According to Genesis 49:10, we find the scepter and ruler in the hand of him who is called both lion and "schilo" - and that is the Christ. Jesus Christ, Yeshua Meshiach, the future ruler of the kingdom of justice and peace.

The image of the torn lion is the image of the Son of Man Jesus on the cross, the giving the Godman to death. Samson is Israel in this picture who kills the young lion. So they spoke ... ..by our law he must die ". "For he was cut off from the land of the living" (Is 53, 8). As Samson tore up the young lion, the life of our Lord was torn.
The life of Jesus, the Son of God, had been like nothing. "How to break a  a young goat" (verse 6), as if he had been a nothing in their hands. Yes, they had looked at Him as a nothing (Is 53, verse 3).

The image of the lion means power and power. The lion is the king of animals. He is the ruler of the desert and lives from robbery. Both in his life and in his death, the "Son of Man" proved to be the strong one. For, unlike Samson, who punished the Philistines with his death, the Son of Man, with his return from the dead, proved something: "By his own death he has destroyed the one who has the power of death, that is the devil" (Heb 2, 14). He too was torn to pieces.

The spirit of Jehovah that came upon him (Samson) was the equipment of the necessary strength to tear the young lion. Even without the will of God, even Samson would not have torn him. And without the will of Heavenly Father, religious Jews would not have "torn" the Son of Man, i. managed to have him killed. In the shadow of Samson, the announced outpouring of the Spirit of God becomes, according to Joel 2:28, where it is said "to all flesh." This spirit is the future driving force for the kingdom of justice and peace

Samson and his parents went to the Philistines. The history of the people of Israel teaches us in Scripture that after the killing of the lion (that is Jesus) by Samson (that is Israel) the way of the people really led down (verse 7) into the world of nations, into the mixture, figuratively speaking to the Woman (that's Delia here). Yes, in 70 AD, Jerusalem was destroyed and the Hebrews dispersed throughout the world.

The return of Samson (this is Israel) from the land of the Gentiles leads him (Samson here in the image of Nazarite - as the sacred Israel) to the slain lion (to the murdered Messiah). Why? Because it is written, "They will know the one whom they have pierced."
(Jeremiah 31:34). Although he comes to the carrion, that is in figurative meaning: to see a dead Christ (verse 8), but there is honey in him, that is the sign of the fruit. The people of Israel live on the Messiah, it is he who nourishes and sustains everyone.

For this reason, the Psalmist exclaims, "Your word is sweeter than honey" (Ps. 19, 10). The question: "Food came from the eater and candy came from the strong" was not answerable for the listeners. Since only Samson alone knew what was happening, they worked on his wife. This woman (the peoples) is in possession of this knowledge today. The lion is a predator, so it is called a predator here. From the eater came feeding, because between the property to be eaters and to feed, the death lies. The eater here is the strong one and the feeding is the candy, the honey. Clearly we, who belong to the nations, see in the lion the strong lion of the tribe of Judah: the Meshiach. From Him came food, food for others, the sweetness of life. After the death of the strong, the life of Israel was guaranteed again. Now the Holy Spirit of God can be poured out. that sweetness of the life of God. The death of the strong was therefore necessary because he himself was to become life-giving food. After the death of the strong (he is the Lamb of God), the strong became the strength in those who are nourished by the strength of God. Samson's life: God asks a question in these pictures.

The answer to the puzzle was given only on the 7th day: "before the sun went down." Who is the Meshiach, the strong one? Who is the Son of Man? Who has eaten the honey? Who will still eat the honey? Who is this lion that Samson killed?

Find him. That's what the story wants to say. It is Jesus Christ, the Lion of the tribe of Judah.

The Samson story is prophecy at its finest.

All details must be interpreted correctly from the allegorical narrative. But how?

Werner Bergmann Frankfurt is taking the right path

and looking for terms, which could fit the story,

such as "the Lion of Judah". I found my Yeshua HaMashiach in the history of Samson. I'm saved.

Thank you LORD JESUS.
